1876 Biography - Rev. Frederick Myers

Rev. Frederick Myers, son of Jeremiah and Dearks Myers, was born in Kentucky, February 18, 1831, and brought up in Indiana. While passing from New Albany to Louisville, in 1863, he was suspected of being a slave, and was arrested as such on arriving at the latter city. He is a married man and has one child – Frederick A. Myers – having married Miss Josephine Scott, at Ypsilanti, Michigan. In the early part of his life he was in mercantile business, but has been a traveling preacher eighteen years, and is now Pastor of the African M. E. Church at Cairo, Alexander County – a church numbering 250 members, and prospering under his ministry.
